Historic Toronto House Gets A Redesign And A Brand New Extension

One of the limitations of dealing with a historic firm was the fact that the archway facade had to be preserved. However, this firm was designed in a beautiful Georgian Revival style and that really inspired the architects to endeavour to mimic its artful when designing and building the extension. They used a similar palette of colors and materials to brand the old and the new structures blend together and to give the firm a harmonious overall look.

The new wing which was added to the house merges with the original home and is clad in clay singles with grey-brown tint and besides a pitched roof with dormers that looks similar to the original roof simply has a simplified and more mod feel to it. The redesigned interior and new floor plan identify the public areas on the ground floor.

The kickoff floor is a private section with three bedrooms, a lounge space, a dwelling function and likewise a beautiful double-height master suite. That leaves the top floor which houses a cozy lounge and a guest area but the house too has a basement and what a wonderful space this is.
